North Augusta Artists Guild
The North Augusta Artist Guild (NAAG) will start off the Fall season with Phil Garrett from Golden Acrylics as the Guest speaker at the September 7, 2010 meeting. His Lecture will explore a multitude of new surfaces for painting and collage with Goldens Glass Bead Gel, Translucent Molding pastes, Fiber Paste (paper in a jar), and much more... cover mixed media application and layering effects for drawing and painting, using unique metallic paints, stencils.

The rest of the lecture will be an introduction to the New Golden Open Acrylic and their use. They can be used alone or in combination with existing Heavy Body, and fluid Acrylics and their mediums, gels and additives. This gives artists a truly comprehensive system of Paints.

The meeting will start with a MEET and GREET session from 6:00 - 6:30 pm with lite refreshments and the lecture will start at 6:30 pm. The NAAG meets at the North Augusta Community Center. For more information contact Yvonne Kinney at 803-349-5112.

The 35 members of the NAAG will Exhibit during the Westobou Festival in the Arts and Heritage Center and will have artists working with a live model during the Cajun Cabaret evening. Seven additional artist will be set up and demoing throughout the Arts and Heritage Center for the evening and have work on display and for sell during the Cajun Cabaret.

The October Business Meeting will be Oct 5,2010 at the regular time 7:00-9:00PM and is open to anyone interested in visual arts.

The annual FALL INTO ART EXHIBIT will run from November 2,2010 until the end of January 2011 at the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta.

Nov & Dec - Fall Into Art Show, Arts and Heritage Center, North Augusta.

December 7 - Annual Christmas Party
The elected Board members are; President, Yvonne Kinney,Vice President, Beth Jones, new Board members: Jerry Walker and Wanda Dansereau, remaining Board members are Tony Carr, Cassie Bayer and Treasure/Sec Judy Berry. Out going Board members were: Warren Hair and Rodney Thomas

At this time the NAAG is planning a trip on the Augusta Canal in May 2010, the annul Fall Into Art Show at the AHC in Nov & Dec 2010, and taking part the Westobou Festival with both an exhibit and artists on site painting the evening of the event in the AHC.

The Tuesday Painters meet each Tuesday from 11:00 to 3:00 pm at the AHC. This is on Open Studio and members of AHC and the public are welcome to come sit in and paint with us.

The Out to Lunch Bunch meets the last Friday of each month to enjoy fellowship and lunch at a local restaurant at 1:00 PM any one interested may contact me at 803-349-5112 to sign up for lunch.

Business meetings are held at the NA Community Center the 1st Tuesday of Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct at 7:00 pm, December is the Christmas Party

Critique Meetings are held at the NA Community center the 1st Tuesday of Jan, March, May, July, Sept, and Nov, members bring art work to be critiqued by fellow members or a guest artist, light refreshments are served at both meetings.

The March Guest Speaker will be Kathleen Grindler Engler, sculptor, April our guest speaker is Carol Sue Roberts, May guest speaker is Elizabeth Reynolds.

As the Artist of the Month in the NA Today newspaper Wanda Dansereau will do an interview and take your photo for the NA Today paper. She will contact you to set up a time slot for you.

As the Artist of the Month for the NA Chamber you are to go in with a short bio the first week of the month before you are to be ARTIST of the MONTH. They will take your photo at this time. The photo will appear with your bio the last week of the month before you are the Artist of the Month at the Chamber office in the NA Star in the Chamber News Section.
You are to place a piece of your art work to be on view for the entire month. There is an easel at the Chamber for the NAAG artist to use. The NA Chamber is located at 406 West Ave. NASC 29841

The Beveled Edge Framing Shop will feature an artist each month. You may set up and work there if you so desire, have prints and note cards to sell as well. 528 Georgia Ave NA 803-441-0144

The NA Family Y has a feature wall for our Artist of the Month, you may also set up and work there if you desire to do so. You may have business card set up as well and if you set up and work there for a day you can sell note cards and prints while there. 401 Martintown Road NA AC803-349-8102

The Arts and Heritage Center will set up an easel at the Front Entrance to display the Artists of the Months work and a short bio may be hung on the easel. 100 Georgia Ave, NA SC 803-441-4380.
